Diane Coffey Cole

Diane Coffey Cole, age 78, of Caroleen, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Atrium Health-Cleveland in Shelby.

Diane was born Saturday, August 3, 1946 in Rutherford County to the late Raymond Coffey and Grace Roberts Coffey. She was a dedicated textile worker for many years, having worked at the Burlington and Haynes Plants. Diane’s family was her life. She loved playing with her grandchildren, cooking for her family and going on family vacations. Her home was the center of all the family activities as she was the caretaker for many of her family’s and neighbor’s children. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Diane was a member of Prospect Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-seven years, Ronald Cole, Sr.; son, Ronald Cole, Jr.; grandchildren, Kevin Cole and Bridget Cole; great grandchild, Molly Elizabeth Justice; four brothers and two sisters.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Tim Cole (Diane Sluder) of Caroleen, Clint Cole of Caroleen, Becky Cole (Justin Byers) of Mooresboro, Phyllis Cole (Joe Bristol) of Ellenboro, Gary Cole (Elizabeth) of Mooresboro, Barry Cole (Christie) of Mooresboro; sister, Barbara Baldwin of Virginia Beach, Virginia; fifteen grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 14th at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ernie Cole and Reverend Tim Elmore officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Caroleen-Avondale Cemetery.
