Danny Wofford Thompson

Danny Wofford Thompson, age 74, of Forest City, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Danny was born Wednesday, May 23, 1951 in Rutherford County to the late Wofford Thompson and Betty Painter Thompson. Most recently he was a Woodworking Instructor at Isothermal Community College. In his earlier days he was a truck driver and also participated in rodeos as a saddle bronc rider and bull rider. Danny was a past member of Morningstar Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of thirty-eight years, Diana Dills Thompson and two brothers, Bill and Terry Thompson.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Lynda Morrow Thompson; sons, James Wofford Thompson of Chesnee, SC and Xavier Owens of Forest City; daughter, Ainjal Jolley (Carl) of Forest City; brothers, Perry and Timmy Thompson and a number of extended family members.

A gathering of family and friends to honor his life will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Monday, April 13th at Harrelson Funeral Home.
