Colleen Fish Clontz

Colleen Fish Clontz, age 90, of Forest City, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 2, 2025 at the Willow Ridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Colleen was born Friday, November 16, 1934 in Buncombe County to the late Utha Elmore Fish and Ella Salome Ducker Fish. She was a graduate of Mt. Vernon High School, class of 1952 and worked for Cone Mills-Florence Plant and Stonecutter for many years. She was a devout Christian and a member of the Philadelphia Church of God. Colleen enjoyed sewing, collecting dolls and writing poetry. Her greatest joy was being a homemaker and loving on all her family, especially her grandkids.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two husbands, Hugh Clontz and Jr. McVeigh Crane; daughter, Angela Dawn Clontz; son, Danny Hugh Clontz; brothers, Russell, Frank, Rober and John Wayne Fish; sisters, Barbara Powell, Wanda Bradshaw and Louise Fish.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Dean Clontz of Rutherfordton; daughters, Donnis Clontz of Forest City and Darlene Euten (Fred) of Bostic; sisters, Faye Poteat (Gary) of Gilkey, Beverly Dalton of Rutherfordton and Reisa Wright (Dan) of Ellenboro; brother, Everett Fish (Lorenia) of Forest City; grandchildren, Freddie Euten, Quenten Clontz, Amy Euten, Cody Ledford and Jared Arrowood; great grandchildren, Ethan Euten, Aubrey Euten, Jordan Clontz, Matthew Clontz and great-great grandchildren, Cassia Jade Clontz and Juniper Sue Rayne Clontz.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 5th at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Robby Hensley officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Sandy Level Baptist Church Cemetery.
