Charles W. Smith, age 76, of Forest City, passed away Friday, September 5, 2025 at his home.
Charles was born Saturday, January 15, 1949 in Rutherford County to the late William L. “Bill” Smith and Dorris Walker Smith. He was a graduate of Chase High School class of 1966 and earned a bachelor’s degree from Wofford College in 1974. Charles worked in textiles for thirty-five years where he served as the President/CEO of Consumer Products Inc. His passion was ranching and raising Angus cattle. Charles and Teresa were both dedicated to the rescue of Rottweilers. He was of the Methodist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Rebecca Cole Smith and brothers, Tom Smith and Terry Smith.
Those left to honor his memory include his beloved wife of thirty-three years, Teresa Hunt Smith; son, Jeff Herman-Smith of Matthews, NC; daughter, Lindsey Smith of Forest City; brothers, Rick Smith (Ann) of Mooresboro and Tim Smith (Becky) of Forest City; sister-in-law, Debbie Smith of Forest City and a host of nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, September 9th at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Michael Harrill and Reverend Richard Carr officiating. Interment will follow in the Providence Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home.
