Carolyn Mills Humphries

Carolyn Mills Humphries, age 85, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at Fairhaven Home in Forest City.

Carolyn was born Sunday, May 28, 1939 in Rutherford County to the late Charlie Bill Mills and Nannie McKinney Mills. She was a graduate of Tri-High School, class of 1957. Carolyn worked for PPG for over twenty-three years before retirement. She enjoyed camping, golfing, was a collector of angels and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-two years, Archie “Jr.” Humphries; granddaughters, Heather Lowery and Tori Lowery; siblings, Geneviae Sisk, Luther Mills, Nora Nix, Ella Calhoun, Janie Moore and Flossie Powell.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Lisa Humphries Tolleson of Cliffside; son, Billy Ray Humphries (Cyndi) of Cliffside; sister, Louise Hardin of Samford, NC; grandchildren, Snapper Humphries, Amber Avery, Ronnie “Bubba” Lowery; eight great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren and a brother-in-law, Larry Humphries (Tessie) of Shelby.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 3rd at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Randy Church and Reverend Matt Mills officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Mooresboro. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. At other times they will be gathered at 310 Hawkins Loop Road, Mooresboro, NC 28114.
