Brenda Peeler

Brenda Smith Peeler, age 78, of Cliffside, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at Atrium Health-Cleveland in Shelby.

Brenda was born Monday, April 7, 1947 in Rutherford County to the late Porter Smith and Bertha Hudson Smith. She worked several years as a Deputy Sheriff for the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Department. Brenda also proudly served as a DARE officer. She was a dedicated member of The Church and loved the Lord with all her heart. She loved sharing the gospel with others.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-six years, Kenneth Peeler; son, Jody Peeler; sisters, Covie White and Betty Ramsey; brothers, Arthur Smith, Richard Smith and Charles Smith.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving daughter, Dana Best and husband, Darren of Cliffside; her grandchildren, Jirehnissi Best, Josh Best (Rebecca) and Destiny Best.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 8th at the Cooper Springs Congregational Holiness Church with Reverend Darren Best and Reverend Gary Gatlin officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
