Betty Brooks

Betty Melton Brooks, 73, of Ellenboro, died Friday, May 30, 2008 at Rutherford Hospital.
A native of Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late George Marion Melton and Julia Viola Ledford Melton. She retired from Stonecutter Mill after 20 years of service and was a long-time member of Corinth Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She had spent the last seven years being the main caregiver to her husband.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Bill Brooks; five sons, Gary Brooks and his wife Lisa, Ricky Brooks and Debbie, Steve Brooks, Dan Brooks and his wife Joy all of Ellenboro, Billy Brooks from Spindale; one daughter, Connie Bradley of Caroleen; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Bobby Melton, Kenneth Melton and Ronnie Melton; two sisters, Joyce Lowery and Cindy Propst.
