Betty Ann Biggerstaff

Betty Ann Biggerstaff, age 67, of Rutherfordton, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025, at the Rutherford Regional Medical Center. 

Betty was born on Tuesday, February 5, 1957 in Rutherford County, to the late Robert Kanipe and Ola Mae Huckabee Kanipe. She was a member of Forest Lake Baptist Church and enjoyed reading her bible. She was a very generous and gracious person who loved looking after people and taking care of her family. Betty was a very social person who had a special ability to make people smile and laugh. She retired from Cone Mills and enjoyed working with puzzles in her free time.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Biggerstaff; and her brothers, Bruce Kanipe and Homer Kanipe.

She is survived by her sons, Billy Biggerstaff (Melissa), of Forest City, and Jason Biggerstaff, of Bostic; sister, Yvonne Greene, of Forest City; four brothers, Donnie Kanipe (Ann), of Forest City, Kenneth Kanipe and (Becky), of Forest City, Roger Kanipe, of Shelby, and Randy Kanipe (Wanda), of Cliffside; and two grandchildren, Taylor Biggerstaff and Peyton Biggerstaff.

The family and friends will gather to celebrate Betty’s life on Thursday, January 23rd from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Harrelson Funeral Home. Graveside services will be conducted at a later date which will be announced.
