Barbara Ann McGinnis Brackett

Barbara Ann McGinnis Brackett, age 72, of Forest City, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.

Barbara was born Wednesday, January 6, 1954 in Rutherford County to the late Jessie James McGinnis and Emma Jane Bradley McGinnis. She worked many years as a caregiver in home healthcare and was of the Baptist faith. Barbara enjoyed playing bingo and especially enjoyed going to yard sales. She loved her fur babies, Peppi and Pudgie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of twenty-nine years, H.P. Brackett; brothers, Jimmy, Bobby, Leroy, Ronnie, Steve and Mike McGinnis and a nephew, Tommy McGinnis.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Phil Brackett (Sharon Martin) of Forest City; her life companion of twenty-five years, Millard Lipsey of Union, SC; brother, Ervin McGinnis of Goodes Creek; nephews, Richard, Terry, Chuck, Todd, Brock, Jason and Dale McGinnis; nieces, Shane Dotson, Shannon Alley, Christina McGinnis, Angie Dobbins, Regina Doty, Wendy Owens and her fur babies, Peppi and Pudgie.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 30th at the Alexander Cemetery with Reverend Sam Henderson officiating.
