Barbara Byers

Barbara Ann Byers, age 61, of 419 Beason Road, Mooresboro, NC, died May 13, 2009 at Hospice House.
A native of Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late, Grady Thomas and Mamie Lee McCombs Thomas. She was an avid reader and was known as a person who loved helping people and putting others before herself. She was a lady with great compassion for young people and the elderly. She had worked for Rutherford Hospital for 15 years in Home Health Care.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert 'Shannon' Lane.
Survivors include three daughters, Melanie Lane Strickland of Cliffside, Darlene Lane Adkins of Mooresboro and Kimberly Earl Jones also of Mooresboro; three sisters, Leanna Jay, Teresa Walters and Sheila Horn; one brother, Gueido 'Max' Simpson; five grandchildren, Johna Adkins, Amber Adkins, Summer Martinez, Austin Shires and Misty Strickland; three great grandchildren, Mariah Adkins, Jayden Allison and Malikhi Lowery.
