Annette Hendrix, age 76, of Tanners Grove Road, Forest City, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
Born June 16, 1942 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter to the late Theodore Johnson and Mattie Goode Johnson. Annette worked for Broyhill Mfg., Master Craft and Stonecutter Mills for many years. Most recently she was a custodian at R-S Central High School. She was the last living charter member of Danieltown Baptist Church and was the founder and a participant of the Forest City Cloggers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Sarah Funderburke, Mary Sue Ford, Virginia Morgan and two brothers, William Johnson and Edward Johnson.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of fifty-six years, Garland Hendrix; daughter, Tammy Anderson and husband, Tony of Forest City; two brothers, Gary Johnson and wife, Peggy of Harris and Doug Johnson and wife, Donice of Cliffside; one sister, Rita Helton and husband, Hicks of Cliffside. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Blair Anderson and three great grandchildren, Hadley Deviney, Rylee Deviney and Harper Anderson.
A graveside service will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 31, 2018 at the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Creighton Lovelace officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside. At other times they will be gathered at 141 Brookridge Drive, Forest City.
