Al Burleigh

Al Burleigh, age 84, of Bostic, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at his home.

Al was born Sunday, September 15, 1940 in Plattsburgh, New York to the late Katherine LaForest. He served honorably in the US Marine Corps. Al worked as a welder for Duke Power for many years. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and gardening. Al was known for his sense of humor and his ability to make people laugh.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of sixty-four years, LaRue M. Burleigh; daughters, Alexis Bryant (Scott) of Hickory, Monica Hedrick of Bostic, Emily Cain (David) of Fayetteville, NC, Elizabeth Hodge-Burleigh of Bostic and Angelina Burleigh of Bostic; sister, Carol Ann Burleigh of Plattsburgh, NY; grandchildren, Stacie Fuller, Annie Oco (Pio), William Bowen (Amy), Jessica Einspahr (John), Cara Johnson and Diana Cain; great grandchildren, Elijah Bowen, Madison Bowen, Gabriel Davis, A.J. Davis, Caydence Oco, Lynex Oco, Joseph Hopkins, Cian Johnson and Carian Johnson.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no formal services conducted.
